Prof. Dr. Anar Jafarov: “An Introduction to the Philosophy of Law with H.L.A. Hart”

The Department of Public and Social Law invites all interested, especially students and doctoral candidates, to a guest lecture series by Prof. Dr. Anar Jafarov from ADA University, Baku

“An Introduction to the Philosophy of Law with H.L.A. Hart”

The lecture series delves into the intricate world of legal philosophy through the lens of H.L.A. Hart's seminal work "The Concept of Law". Participants will explore how the philosophy of law addresses its own problems and what sets it apart from other legal disciplines. Drawing on Hart’s ideas, they will engage with fundamental questions such as "What is law?" and "What is its relationship to morality?" as well as critically evaluate J. Austin's theory and discuss R. Dworkin’s critique of Hart’s comprehension of law. Through this thought-provoking journey, the lecture series provides all interested with a deeper understanding of the philosophical foundations of law, while expanding their intellectual horizons and enriching their legal perspectives.

Participation in the lecture series is acknowledged with a special certificate.
