Welcome to the website of the European Documentation Center at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.

European Documentation Centers have been established in the member states of the European Community and in third countries since 1963. Today there are several hundred centers at various universities worldwide.

The main task of EDCs is

• to provide the public interested in European institutions and policies, both at the University and in the local and regional environment, with Community-related information, data and publications;
• to answer practical and scientific questions on European developments, programs and institutions;
• to promote Community-related teaching and research; to satisfy the need for advice in relation to scientific projects;
• to record and index all Community publications.

EDC-Halle

The EDC of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg has been located at the Institut für Wirtschaftsrecht of the Faculty of Law since the beginning of 2005. The EDC is now based in the library of the Institut für Wirtschaftsrech on the 2nd floor of the Juridicum.

As EDC-Halle we offer the following service:

• Library open to the public
• Literature and internet research
• Replying to requests
• Copying facilities with copy card
• General information material to take away
