Closing statement Theodora Leithold:

The "Helga Pedersen Human Rights Moot Court" was definitely a challenging but incredibly enriching experience for me. It not only offers the opportunity to grow professionally, but also to develop personally - which is precisely why the importance of this moot court should not be underestimated. The intensive preparations and the challenges during the competition have shown me that I can achieve more than I would have previously thought. I am therefore grateful that our university has given us this opportunity to dive deep into the field of human rights and experience the importance of these issues first-hand.

Despite the effort, I am proud to have been part of this great team, to have met such great people and I would not want to miss this experience. It has left a lasting impression on me and shown me that it is worth being 'moot' and taking on new challenges - these insights are priceless and will stay with me beyond the Moot Court.

Closing statement Hannah Sommer:

I would recommend this moot court to anyone who needs a break from the daily grind of their studies and wants to gain practical experience. Not only did I improve my oral argumentation and legal English skills by participating, but I also made new friends and once again worked with real ambition for something. I am particularly grateful for my great team members, thanks to whom this time, although very stressful, was also incredibly fun. And of course for the cat that visited us in St. Gallen in the Airbnb and helped me not to lose my nerve.

This experience has made us more self-confident and independent, and we are grateful to have been given such an opportunity.

Closing statement Hannah Spittler:

I applied for the moot court as a kind of challenge for myself. I wanted to improve my English, deal with human rights in a practical way and challenge my self-confidence. What I didn't expect was that I would make such great friends. The stressful phases shortly before submission and before our presentations in Switzerland brought us closer together. We outgrew ourselves and are proud of our performance over the last few months. We got on really well with the other teams in the regional round and had a lot of fun at the social events. I'm very glad that my concerns about speaking in front of other people didn't stop me from taking part and having a very enjoyable experience.

Closing statement Marc-Lukas Markhoff:

Participating in the Moot Court was the most intensive and at the same time most influential time of my studies so far. In addition to the opportunity to deal with human rights and the European Court of Human Rights in depth, the practical experience was a great benefit. Observing my own development and that of the entire team from pleading to pleading, seeing how we constantly improved and became more self-confident, was a unique experience. During this time, I not only learned to surpass myself, but also to share this experience with my team and support each other in all matters. The competition thrives on the opportunity to compete and connect with other European teams, creating friendships beyond the competition. Finally, I would like to thank my team for the time we spent together and Prof. Dr. Hanschel's chair for the opportunity to take part in this competition.
