Curriculum vitae
Lena Leffer’s research focuses on criminal law at the intersection of law and technology. She is currently conducting her PhD-research on the development of an Anti-Money Laundering AI (MaLeFiz project funded by the German government) at the University of Halle (Germany). She has studied law at Saarland University (Germany) and subsequently completed her legal clerkship at the local Higher Regional Court with several stations at international commercial law firms. From 2016 to 2022, she was initially a student assistant and later a research assistant and lecturer at the Chair of Legal Informatics at Saarland University and at the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security. Before coming to the University of Halle she has already been involved in a leading role in two previous law & tech projects: "EVAREST " (Marketing of data products in the food industry) and "PAIRS " (Crisis prevention and management through AI). From 2021 to 2023, she was the managing director of the Deutscher EDV-Gerichtstag e.V. (German Association for Computing in the Judiciary).
